Understanding our certifications

ECOCERT & COSMOS Natural / Organic

ECOCERT is a well-known certification body for organic and natural products. COSMOS (COSMetic Organic and Natural Standard) is a shared European framework for natural and organic cosmetics. ECOCERT is one of the authorised bodies that can audit products against COSMOS.

COSMOS Natural emphasises natural-origin ingredients and restricted processing. COSMOS Organic adds defined organic-content requirements. When a L'EXCES product shows one of these badges, that individual formula has been developed and labelled under those rules — not every product in the collection is certified.

Our private-label partner (Selfnamed) states that the vast majority of its formulations are certified by ECOCERT to the COSMOS standard. L'EXCES product pages surface the COSMOS Natural or COSMOS Organic badge where it applies.

Certified B Corporation (general)

B Corp certification assesses a company's overall social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency — it is a business-level standard, not a cosmetics-formula label like COSMOS.

L'EXCES does not currently claim B Corp status. Our manufacturing partner Selfnamed lists Certified B Corporation among its facility credentials; that is their company certification, not a L'EXCES brand claim.

Bureau Veritas (general)

Bureau Veritas is a global testing, inspection, and certification organisation and is also an authorised COSMOS certification body. Brands sometimes work with them for quality, safety, or supply-chain audits.

We do not currently present Bureau Veritas as a certification on L'EXCES own-line product badges. If that changes, we will update product pages and this note.
